The federal government, in a trial scheduled to begin on June 3, will rely on testimony from CEOs of New York's largest publishing houses to argue that Apple(s aapl) brokered a conspiracy to raise the price of ebooks and harm its rival, Amazon(s amzn).

According to a court filing released on Tuesday, CEOs of the same publishing houses that once rejected the price-fixing theory will now offer evidence to suggest they colluded with Apple in order to increase ebook prices.

Dual-booting is great. You can use multiple operating systems without having to use a different computer. I dual-boot Windows 8 and Ubuntu 13.04. However, I rarely log into my Windows 8 partition for many reasons.

Ubuntu Has The Apps I Need

People may say that Windows has more applications available. While that may be true, nearly every app I need is available on Ubuntu.

Now let us turn our attention to the process of selecting a distribution. I've been in this process for a  while. Xubuntu has worn on me due to some quirks. Ubuntu has also caused me some concern as well, so I have thought about this change because I don't want to start the distro hopping that characterized my GNU/Linux use. Here is my suggestion as to how to choose a distribution of Linux that will satisfy.

This is a Raspberry Pi board (the $35 B type with ethernet and 2x USB connectors) set up with a TP-Link TL-WN722N type WiFi Dongle. The 722N comes in two types, one with an external antenna (shown) and one without an external antenna that looks just like this one, but without the antenna connector on the side.

I know it is expensive to get a computer but prices of hardware are dropping and Operating Systems such as Windows are getting more reasonably priced and Linux/Unix flavors getting more easily available and UX friendly.

Ubuntu, Fedora etc. are some of the most common flavors of open source available.

You can create Virtual machine on your desktop if you don't want to blow away your host.

I almost missed spotting this Black Racer who was warming up after a cool evening.

Down by the dock in the water I found a tiny little white flower with the name Pineland Pimpernel.

But something that really caught my eye was a pair of invasive species that were next to each other.  Peruvian Primrosewillow popped up 3 or 4 articles ago and I bring it up again because you will find it happily co-existing with another highly invasive species, the Old World Climbing Fern.
