This post feels like something of a confessional, in short, despite my enthusiastic comments about openSUSE, I find myself reverting to Ubuntu 12.04.
Let me be clear, I don't think there is much wrong with openSUSE. I have found it to be stable and easy to use. KDE remains a beautiful desktop environment to work within, and some of the applications designed for it, are in my opinion the best available within the open source world.
