How much longer will my laptop last?

Recently I posted about my laptop and how awesome it is.    Now I still enjoy using it and all but it is over six years old so I have no idea of how much longer she will last.

Sad but true!  I gotta face reality, even though it this case it really bytes.     That sad reality is something I have already experienced in my two other laptops that I have of the same make and model and they have already stopped working properly due to the GPU failing in them both.

So, it makes logical sense to me that while I could simply get another one online, by them being the same age,  they would all fail at some point.  The problem would be much simpler if they had discrete or removable GPU’s but they don’t.

Due to them being integrated GPU’s they are a part of the motherboard so they cannot be upgraded by themselves, I would have to get a new motherboard which to me is not a good idea since it would cost more to buy one of those and then I would still have to not only take the laptop apart, but then I would have to put it back together again.   So not worth it in my book.

I really would like to repair the messed up part, but again this does not seem to be feasible.  Not cool at all, but what can I do?

Oh well, these things happen.  Such is life.

Like I said, I have no idea how long she will last, but the least I could do is keep her well maintained and hopefully she will keep on running at least until I can get a new one.
