There has been many debates on the Internet as well as face to face when it comes to what is the best operating system to run on one’s computer at home. Windows, Mac or Linux
I have had this conversation time after time, and I have my preference when it comes to the three and it’s quite obvious.
To each his own.
For many, Windows is the way. They put up with purchasing a PC and then wanting to write simple documents, yet being told they have to shell out yet more money. You could buy products like PowerPoint, Excel, or Word separately for about $100.00 each. A package such as Microsoft Office will run you about $500.00.
In fact just a few hours ago I was at a computer store and the sales rep was talking to a woman who was purchasing a computer. He told her (quite honestly) that when it says that the computer comes with Word it is a lie, a terrible lie. What it does in fact, is come preinstalled with a piece of garbage demo that you have to lay down more cash so that you will be able to do anything meaningful.
Word.
Oh, wait! you get the computer and set it up its brand new and its got…..you guessed it! More stupid demos for products you will likely never need or want.
Word.
Now lets talk about security, you buy the PC or laptop, the Office software, and then Antivirus programs. Hmm, you just added hundreds of dollars to your original purchase.
Word.
To add insult to injury, you now have to pick from different antivirus companies which will all claim that they are simply the best. Then you get them installed and you can STILL get infected because while you got the antivirus, other malware gets into your system. Oh, and they can slow your computer down too.
Yes they “creep, yeah, ’cause You don’t know what They do, and their hopin that you’ll never knowww”.
Now, show me that it’s not a mirage or Am I dreamin’?
Too bad I’m not.
Next up, Mac.
