Yes I did take a picture of my laptop in tablet mode while doing this blog post.   But B-B-B Baby, you just aint seen nufin’ yet!

This is but one of the pictures I have that clearly show the awesomeness that is my laptop and it is such a wonderful thing to be able to talk about it.   It is often said that “time flies when you are having fun”.  In this  it is so true and applies to my laptop which I first wrote about on here back in October of 2011.  I mentioned it then because I had upgraded it from where it was before to something much much more useful to me.  For more about that go here.

This time I decided to talk more  about this machine as there are some thing that have happened to it since then.

It is made my a company called Fujitsu and is the Lifebook T4215.  It is what is known as a convertible laptop which means the screen can be rotated in both directions and even laid onto the keyboard to be used as a tablet.

It also comes with a stylus in case you want to use touch capabilities instead of a keyboard.  I have used it in Windows 7  a little bit but I did prefer using it as a laptop just because that is what I am used to.

I have not as yet used multitouch in Ubuntu, so I will have to check that out sometime in the near future.    If in fact any of you have used that feature already please let me know. I would love to hear about it.

It’s funny how I started off with one laptop but I liked it so much that I figured I would get another one.  I was also concerned about something happening to the original so having a backup would be cool.

I remember getting rather annoyed when I would bid on machines on eBay and was constantly losing because at the last minute someone else would bid a much higher price and would win.  This happened several times so I decided I would just go ahead an bid on two at the same time.  Much to my surprise I got both of them.

I got them for a great price by the way $88.00 a piece plus shipping and handling.    So as you can see its not all about the benjamins baby!  It was a really good deal but since I hadn’t actually seen the machines in person I wasn’t sure what to expect.

I was so happy when I got them in the mail and both worked perfectly.  The only problem with one of them was that the case was damaged.  It didn’t affect how the laptop worked so I didn’t really care.

I chose the damaged one because I knew I would carry it around on a regular basis and sooner or later  something would happen to it.   As it turns out I was right because one day the zipper to my laptop bag came open while I was walking and the laptop hit the concrete.  Needless to say, I was really upset.

I did turn it on and look at it a bit and to my relief my laptop wasn’t gone too soon.

Lol! I decided to take some pictures so you can see how jacked up it is.

The battery wont even stay in unless secured since the corner cracked off.  I will probably get another one.  Also it wouldn’t hurt for me to repair the cracks, although I am not sure what to do about the corners.

Cool huh?
